Public Funding of Schools

I am going to list some religions/churches: Anglican, Baptist, Lutheran, Muslim, Protestant, Presbyterian, Pentecostal, Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu, Sikh, Greek Orthodox, Mennonite, Jehovah's Witnesses, Christian Reform, Evangelical Missionary, Adventist, United Church, Methodist, Non-denominational, and no religion. I appologize if I missed one. I also know that there are many different types of Orthodox churches. I missed the Catholic church for as reason.

Question: Taking into account all the above churches/religions, and remember that we live in a society where discrimination is frowned upon..... Do you think it is fair that people from all these religions who pay taxes should fund Catholic Schools?

If you answer yes, you are a moron. If you agree that it is unfair and you voted for the Conservatives (PC), you are also a moron. Who do you think proposed this stupid idea in the first place... don't know... The Conservatives (PC).

I am not going to make this rant about the money hungry, big business loving conservatives, as much as I would love to, I am going to talk about the issue of using public tax dollars to fund Catholic school boards.

I have nothing against the Catholic's. Not that I can't think of a few controversial issue's pertaining to their religion.

We have removed all religious content from the public school board thus allowing people from all different cultures to learn and grow together. That almost sounded futuristic and noble. We have stopped persecuting Jews and African Americans (Dark people) or at least we should have. We are a Global economy, we are supposed to love and support our neighbour, we as a culture are supposed to be accepting and understanding. We are suppose to uphold free speech, and encourage Gay's to be Gay and so forth. Are you starting to understand what I am driving at here?

Keeping that in mind, is it right that the Catholic Church should have their own schools? If this is going to be the president then I say, let us start publicly funding Jewish schools, United Schools, Methodist schools, and why just religious school let us have Gay and Lesbian schools, African American cultural schools, Men only schools, Women only schools, North American Indian schools, Irish schools, let us not forget If you ain't Dutch, you're not much schools, Spanish schools, German Schools, Emo schools, and why just cultural divided schools, Sex Ed teaching schools, Non Sex Ed teaching schools, Evolution teaching schools, Non-Evolution teaching schools, why stop there, Left handed people schools, Midget schools, Pro Abortion schools, Country only schools, City only schools, NDP only schools, Liberal only schools, Conservative only schools, Eco friendly schools, Sports only schools, and Fat people schools. Give the people the right to choose.

The above schools/people all pay tax. Do they not all have the right to have their tax dollars fund their own school? These schools can start to teach their own agendas. We can start moving back cultural advancement and brotherly/sisterly love back a hundred years. Extending public funding to religious schools would represent an inappropriate mixing of church and state. Yes, I think segregation is a great idea. Social cohesion isnt' very important. Would it not be just as arbitrary as funding Catholic schools?

Faith based private school students make up 2.5% of the total student population. It would only be at a cost of $400 million a year. This sounds like a great idea. The MP's gave themselves a $40 000 raise. (You Fuckers voted for them, don't be upset that they gave themselves a raise bigger than what a lot of Canadians make in a year. Don't forget that most of you are pissing and moaning that there is not enough money in the health care system. Let us not forget to mention large class sizes and lack of teachers, schools, and specialty teachers.) Extending funding to all faith-based schools will reduce the amount available for the public and Catholic systems and segregate children.

Normally I have much more to say, but today I don't. My last statement will end as such:

I am of Scot/Irish decent. I am a straight white, short, right handed male. I believe in the United Church. I am pro abortion. I am anti-gay. I vote NDP. I am anti-vegan. I am pro farmers. I am pro Freedom of Speech. I think men should look like men and women should look like women. I hate office jargon. I hate big business. I am Anti-American. I love unions. I don't believe in the Iraqi war. I pay taxes and I WANT A SCHOOL THAT REFLECTS MY BELIEFS AND OPINIONS.

I would hope that my readers would understand that I am being sarcastic in much of what I have written above.

If not.. YOU ARE A MORON.

Don't let the terrorists win. Funding faith based schools would allow the terrorists to win.......... Should we start funding their schools too?
